Camp RE:ACT! 2012 (III) [OVERDUE]

On the third and last day of Camp RE:ACT, Sam came in trying very hard to be less awkward :') he offered us morning hugs, played around and talked to us more, and offered us goodbye hugs as well, even if no one accepted the hug offers.

Instead of playing icebreakers on the first day, we played them on the last day while everyone was busy with the performance preparations because it is Group 6 swag ;)

We had a drama workshop for our first workshop of the day and it was quite good! It was really fun, cute and funny, watching all the camp facils do crazy things.

And the facils bought us Island Creamery ice-cream! They asked us "methophorically speaking, do you like froyo or ice cream more? we're just asking for no reason really", and Nic told us "sorry guys, i need to leave you for a while to buy something which is not for you at all". much love for them awkward facils really. we made space for them to sit with us during lunch and Nic was like "oh you guys are so sweet".

Had a plenary after lunch and it was....meh. Everyone was falling asleep, even Nic. He sat next to me and i could see him constantly dozing off. Plus, i heard John tell him "dude hang in there, we're halfway through." Sam was on stage because he was the I/C and he was telling us later about how he could see everyone falling asleep with demonstrations included. The speaker was the National Poet (wow) and he was a really nice guy, talking about Halo 4 and all, just that his talk was really long and slow, almost like a lecture.

After that, we had 4 hours to practice our performance! the facils ditched us to do their farewell video (although at that time we didn't know it) and we made cards for them before starting on our practice. To be honest we had nothing much to write in the morning but after lunch we added more things! We practiced our play 4 times and Victoria, Reiko and I starting randomly dancing kpop songs. SHAWOLS FTW SHINee WORLD UNITES. When the facils came back, we showed them our play and they so coolly said it was good. Our group is like the chillest group in the camp, it was Sam's influence because he's the King of Zen and he's our somewhat main facil. Therefore, our group's taglines are "WE'RE SO ZEN" and "NO EYESSSSSS" thanks to our play!! :D

Vic, Reiko and I started 'singing' kpop songs and the facils were judging us so badly. Nic and John ran away to wash their faces and Sam just stared at us while drinking his coffee. He asked, "what game are you playing? Can i join?" and we 'sang' Firework for him before he said, "maybe i shouldn't join."  We talked to him about life and somehow it led to talking about porn and dirty shows..... But he became much less awkward and actually seemed like quite a good senior to talk to.

Nic and John came back and Nic made us play Murderer again. HE IS OBSESSED WITH THAT GAME. Every time we have a break, he'll ask "anyone wants to play Murderer?"

Had our performance rehearsal on stage with spotlights and all before dinner. Played a very failed truth or dare before the finale started and Nic had to go off for some poetry thing :(

They played the top 3 films and ours wasn't one of them although i think our Adventures of Chairgirl was was better~

Each group then had their own performances and i think Group 6 was the only group not freaking out. WE'RE SO ZEN AND IT'S GROUP 6 SWAG. I remember being so extremely happy that Nic made it back for our performance :') he and Sam were creeping around backstage and they scared me!! It was super dark bckstage and i felt someone tugging the curtains :p

I almost cried during the facils' videos. The Samderman video was so expected of Sam, Nic and John gosh. For most of the video they were just running around while the other facils' videos were so serious haha! Sam only appeared for like 2 seconds though and IT WAS THE BACK OF HIS HEAD >:(

group 6, with 3 members missing because they didn't come

This group grew on me, really. From day 1 til the 3rd day, you can actually see how much we bonded. From the awkward group we are who even resorted to crossing bridges as a rite of initiation, we actually bonded enough to put on a play in two days (not counting the first day because we weren't talking very much).

I suffered from camp withdrawals for quite a long time :( i didn't expect to be miss the facils so much but i did. I miss my group members so much as well. They had a meetup but i couldn't go because I was overseas :'( I guess it was weird to not be seeing them after being with them from 7am to 6pm for two days and 7am to 10pm on the last.

ILY GROUP 6. WE'RE SO ZEN. <3

Camp RE:ACT! (II) [OVERDUE]

I've finally found the time and the willpower to blog again.

Had an amazing race for the second day of Camp RE:ACT and it was really fun! Our third facil, who was absent on the first day due to As came, and we ran around from Orchard to Toa Payoh to Novena and Newton. We officially named ourselves the chill group though. Nic came running to us in Popeyes, saying "hey guys this is your first clue!" We solved it in 5 seconds and then spent 20 minutes or so still having our lunch :p we agreed to be last and walk in with style but surprise surprise, we weren't the last~

Anyway, our first station was to make a speech to no one in particular in an underpass. No one wanted to listen to us HAHA they kept brushing us off. i guess we did quite well because Sam said  he really liked our speech :D

We then went to Toa Payoh and made a retarded story on how to slay a dragon. We also made a music video featuring Nic as an insecure boy, and we were singing What Makes You Beautiful and Call Me Maybe to him :D

Proceeded to ION after, and posed and talked to statues. We got lost looking for Lido and then at Lido itself, looking for the right theatre. Nic is an awesome facil really he was running everywhere ahead of us to help see if we were at the right place ^^ But then again, he's really hyper and never runs out of energy. Our group wasn't really movie people though, so we almost failed that station with a 5/10.

Before the amazing race, wanted to go to Newton food centre for lunch but the facils had violent objections. "No that's at the opposite direction we're going!!!" It was so obvious there was a station there. We had to scrape the sides of the coconut with straws, and then combine the straws to drink coconut juice with conjoined straws. THE COCONUT JUICE WAS GOOD (Y)

We went to Newton station for the next station and had to recite the red line without looking. Mariah and I were the black holes because we live our lives on the green line, and I felt quite bad about it :(

Our last station was at Velocity where we had to make a plasticine figurine of Velocity itself. We did quite badlyIi guess but the station master still gave us a 9 out of 10 (:

Wanted to get ice cream but apparently if we came back after 5 they would deduct points, so we rushed back. We ran against group 4 to get back and it was really tiring.

Bonded pretty much today compared to yesterday although Samwasn't with us since he was a station master :( but Nic, John and the rest of us were definitely a lot less awkward :)

Camp RE:ACT! 2012 (I) [OVERDUE]

This is way overdue.

3 weeks ago, on the 7th to 9th of November, i went for Camp RE:ACT! 2012 organized by HCI ELDDFS. The theme for this year was The Human That Could.

RE:ACT! 2012 was built around a series of workshops organized by the four wings of ELDDFS - Literature, Drama, Debate and Film, and it allowed the participants to be exposed to many artistic forms.

My group was really awkward at the start of the camp and we barely talked. Honestly, i thought that if there was a prize for the Most Awkward Group it would go to us, but we really came through on the second and third day ^^

One reason for the awkwardness was probably because we didn't play much icebreaker games while the other groups were. We just walked around and......talked. It wasn't a very good icebreaking method to be honest, and i think out facilitator(s) felt quite bad about it after that.

Our first workshop of the camp was Film. We learnt film analysis, different types of shot and the general basics of filming, all of which I've learn before because of Infocomm. I wanted to edit so bad but we didn't do any editng :( my skills were quite rusty though, and i forgot how to use a tripod. Or maybe it was because in primary school we used those huge video cameras (with mics and all attached) but this time we only used the handheld ones? I really don't like storyboarding i'm sorry. Anyway, it was kind of fun, but because of the lack of icebreakers, we didn't discuss very much at first. We finally settled on the plot which the facils for the film workshop called "The Adventures Of Chairgirl" after a lot of prompting.

We had lunch, and then it was time for our second workshop, Literature. Two of our group's facils, Sam and Nic were the F-I-C for it, so we headed to the room pretty early where Nic tried to get us to read some poetry books. Their passion for Lit is admirable... i guess. It isn't everyday where you get to see 17-year-old BOYS proclaiming their love for Lit. We had a few activites like free-writing on a piece of blank paper, and other random ones like drawing/writing random things as a group and seeing what it comes out as. We then made a mind-map for the theme of the year - The Human That Could.

We wrote poems too, and mine was so... emo. Angst is my thing hahaha.

Had a break before heading to our respective rooms where we started discussion for our performance for the finale. We weren't talking at all, just staring at our facils awkwardly. I don't know how it started, but yes, we did start talking eventually ^~^

It was awkward, but it was the first day, what was I supposed to expect? To be honest, I didn't quite agree with my seniors that it was an awesome camp at first, but the last two days were so amazing, i had withdrawals for quite a while after that.

URI SMTOWN

Life is a miracle when you believe.

I know that i still HAVE to blog about camp but there's something else so much more important right now which i don't want to be an overdue post.

So just two days ago, i was really wallowing in self-pity about how i couldn't go for SMTown Singapore. Everything in life was just reminding me of them, and i even prepared a rant post about my emotions. Was even prepared to wear all-black the next day.

However, everything changed in just a few hours. Shervin called me, and told me that she had won tickets to smtownsg. I cried hearing that. I didn't know how to raise the thing to the 'rents,  but Shervin wanted me to go badly enough that she even talked to mum for me :') had a little talk with dad about smtown (and studies, of course -_-), which resulted in a lot of crying for me, but they allowed me to go in the end.

And yes, there i was at Marina Bay's Floating Platform in the afternoon yesterday! It was such a great concert experience once again, although SWC last year was still better, which left me with more memories. There were hiccups here and there, like technical difficulties (which resulted in the LED screen at our side not working and spotlights not working properly) and rain, but the artistes were all really professional :)

We were at moshpit A, and it was quite an experience because i was at the sitting area for SWC. Despite joining the queue only around 3pm while the other queued for a few days, we managed to get a spot quite near the front, maybe around the third row? There were so many people trying to get to the front so I couldn't breathe very well two hours into the concert, and i moved to the back. The back was so much more comfortable though, there was enough oxygen to go around, there was space to jump when the artistes asked you to, and you could actually see the artistes better.

f(x) was the first to perform with Hot Summer and Danger, and i screamed A LOT, because i actually have an inner aff(x)tion in me, just that they're not my bias group. I've always wanted to see them live, so yes, i had a lot of feels. Krystal & Amber greeted us in English and Victoria in Chinese. I felt that Sulli's hair was kind of awkward but it was cute! Luna fell, probably because of the slippery stage because of the extremely heavy rain earlier, but it was fine and she kept smiling! ^^

KangTa was up next, and he is extremely good-looking in real life *-* I almost cried just listening to him. He's such a great singer, but i think he should stick to ballads heh. He came out only once here and once during finale though. It was so sad :( he spoke in Chinese and talked about how the last time he came to SIngapore was 10 years ago!

After KangTa was the duet between ZhouMi and Victoria! It was so beautiful and I"m going to start shipping them for real. I've always thought they looked good together but this duet really did it for me :') After which was California Girls by the Jung sisters! It was so good really. Jessica was the first Soshi member to appear on stage, and I couldn't believe that i was watching SNSD live. There was a collaboration by Changmin and Kyuhyun too, and they pulled a fan up on stage, singing Just The Way You Are to her. After that was Oppa Oppa by Donghae and Eunhyuk.

And then Exo came out, and the screams made me deaf. A lot of Exotics were there, maybe because it's the first time Exo was in Singapore. All of them are better looking in real life, i have to say, all 40 of the SMTown artistes. we were supposed to sing Chanyeol a birthday song but i don't know what happened to that. I just couldn't believe that i actually saw Exo live.

SNSD was up next, and really, hearing Taeyeon live felt so surreal. I got to see SNSD's legs live, and that was part of my K-Pop bucket list heh >< just so, so glad. Got to see Taeyeon and Yuri up close and honestly i felt so happy. Love Sooyoung's hair ^^ I was disappointed they didn't do the remix version of Genie (the one with the rap) though, but i still  went crazy when i heard Tiffany scream "Singapore, put it back on!". Her voice gave me goosebumps. Their voices were so much better live, and they were prettier too ^^;;; Their English improved so much too, especially Seohyun!

SHINee came out with Lucifer after that, and they didn't sing the rock version of it either :( they did the new remix one though, with the dance break and all, and it was amazing. I was so glad that they were in front of my eyes once again. Just so happy.

Super Junior was up next, then TVXQ. I have to acknowledge the fact that i really, really like Changmin. I went crazy. I could cry looking at him yesterday. It felt so surreal. I couldn't believe that TVXQ was in front of me. Changmin and Yunho.

SHINee, Super Junior and TVXQ took turns to perform after that. There are 50 songs in total, and i don't think i want to describe every one in detail :p

SHINee was probably the funniest group yesterday, like they always are. Jonghyun was high, and many people suspected that he was drunk HAHA. He loudly asked why the LED screen was blue, and every one laughed. They also acknowledged us for being "professional fans", enduring the rain for them, and of course they thanked us, like they always do :') However, they had to shamelessly promote SWC II. The tickets must be selling really badly :( Onew asked "will we have a lot of fun that night?" which sounded so wrong hahaha. The translator said that SWC II was on Nov 8 and SHINee exclaimed that it was on Dec 8, before going on something about being professional again~ Taemin introduced "Love Like Oxygen" so cutely too! That's the maknae i always knew. I just want to replay that moment over and over again, because it was really too cute! Shall look for fancams of that after this hehe.

Super Junior was quite entertaining as well. Eunhyuk attempted to speak Singlish, and he added a 'lah' to all his sentences. "I love you la", "I am Eunhyuk la", "We miss you la"! There was a sentence where 'la' wasn't suitable, but i forgot what it was haha >< Eunhyuk also told us that he was replacing Leeteuk as the leader, and asked us if we objected to it before telling us that we had no choice xD Yesung then grumbled that Eunhyuk talks way too much.

Of course, TVXQ also thanked us all for the support despite the rain (actually all acts did). I loved Changmin's long speech about how he had worried of us backstage :') the artistes were all really caring, with Tiffany also telling us to stay dry and not get wet. Seohyun too, expressed her worry for us fans ^^  I love these people.

I was singing along so badly for  the DJ Got Us Falling In Love collab between TTS and Exo haha. The Like a G6 collab by Amber, Key and Kris was so damn good. Key came over to our side and i think he was the only one i saw who made and effort to wave at everyone :') when he looked in my direction i think i cried, and then i died. i don't know, Key is just so.....amazing. He was doing something to the camera, idk everyone said he was trying to have sex with the camera HAHAHAHA. His ass was really cute omg. He's the only one my sight followed all the time and not looked at the screen when he came to our side heh. So when he faced the audience on the end of the moving platform.... yeah i see his ass.

There was a dance battle and it was a m a z i n g. They performed a little of Maxstep - just a little - and the girls performed with so much power. It was just....wow. Sadly, it was then when i got my fainting spells :'( pushed my way to the back and asked for water since they didn't allow me to buy some before the show. They gave it to me for free while the water they sold was like $4 HAHA.

The Queen Of K-pop appeared and honestly IT FELT EXTREMELY SURREAL seeing her live. More than any of the other acts. Seeing BoA and KangTa was just so unbelievable. I know when i was told i couldn't go for smtownsg, i cried over not being able to see BoA and KangTa the most. I'm not their stan, but i just admire them so much. I couldn't cheer very much because of my fainting spells though :( but when she sand Number One, i forced myself to cheer very loudly. I love that song. I didn't watch her dance though, because i was sitting down and drinking my water..... and i kind of regret it now, but there are always fancams :)

Internet War was quite scary to witness live. Jjong tried to be cool at the start but he dropped his mic instead. There was no feedback though thank goodness. His abs are very glorious i have to say *-* but he should stop working out imo. His body posture is getting quite bad >< Really loved the ending post so much oh JongTae.

TVXQ performed Humanoids ohmygosh. i got so excited and was singing along hehehe 'COS WE ARE HUUUUMAAAANOIDS! a lot of people around me were like "what song?" and i was just giggling to myself because Shervin was in front :p They performed Catch Me too as the second last item. It was pure happiness for me.

It started to rain during Only One and i missed the whole thing because i was frantically trying to get my poncho on :'( missed the whole collab sigh. Everyone around me was like "eh we missed the whole thing leh" :( f(x) and SHINee were really professional though, performing in the rain! I didn't only cheer for Electric Shock and  Sherlock but clapped as well because yes, they performed in the rain with all smiles :) the other acts after that were just under the sheltered part of the stage.

The VCRs were so sweet too.  I was tearing when the artistes just kept repeating that everyone becomes one when they're in SMTOWN, that SM music brings everyone together, and I cried during the I Am segment. Really wanted them to sing Dear My Family live though, everyone was singing/screaming along to the instrumental :')

When i heard the starting of Hope, i was so glad because all i wanted from SMTown was that song (plus all the collabs) yet disappointed because i knew it was coming to an end. And yes, i cried again. They showed the lyrics on the screen so of course i cried, because i always cry watching/listening to it with subs </3

My withdrawals aren't very strong, maybe because there wasn't much fanservice, but i feel really......heartbroken for some reason. I expected more from smtown tbh, and i guess the LED screen at my side  not working made everything tiring because we had to either watch the small people or tilt our heads to the other LED screens, but I'm just so glad and happy that i got this opportunity after all.

I would be greedy and hope that i can go for SWC II as well, because i think that would be so much better, but there is no way the 'rents would allow me to go, seeing that i wasn't supposed to go for smtownsg in the first place. It's disappointing, really, having to disappoint the boys AND myself, because SWC is really a night for just SHINee and Shawols only.

Just so glad and so grateful to Shervin for getting me the ticket and to God of course, who helped to make everything work out. Maybe I should be grateful to the 'rents too since they let me go, even if they weren't very nice in some things they said, but who am i to ask for more?

Anyway, many of the SM artistes tweeted about SMTown SG, and i'm just so happy. They've (or SHINee, for one) never given Singapore much thoughts and reaction because of some of the really crazy fans, but i'm just glad that they did this time ^^ even though Key me2'ed about Thailand and not Singapore grr. He always does that! Me2'ing about other countries but not Singapore... maybe we're not as significant? ᄏᄏBut i still love him as much nonetheless~

"God said that everything would work out, not that everything would make sense."

Thank you for everything. The experience was so amazing that I can't even put it into words, and I don't think i can ever thank you enough because i just want to keep repeating those two words. See you again, SMTOWN. See you again, SHINee.

class party 2012

we had a class party last week on the 6th, organized by Yenling, Andrea and Joseff. it was fun, and I for one laughed a lot throughout the party although yes, everyone still hung out with their own cliques and stuff. i believe it was successful, considering that only six people actually turned up for the party last year.

it may have been a farewell party, but i was glad that everyone actually took the effort to bring food, presents, and to come.

I went straight from tuition and arrived considerably early, when everyone was still kind of awkward for some reason. There wasn't anything much to do so Raeann made me cut stickers for AFA - I will blog about that later - since she was 'paying me'.

seems like we were in some sort of resort, no?

FOOD.

food at the later part of the party

Sarah had tuition before the party as well, and she took her time to come. When she did, we went high. The above is just one of the many pictures we took. Might update more when i get them~

Yenling organized some games and I was really glad someone actually thought through the whole thing. It was like her last task as the class chairman, and i have to say she did it pretty well, even if the games were typical party ones.

We played Pass the Parcel, Never Have I Ever, some follow the leader thing and had a 'dress up with tissue paper' parade.

forfeit

I'm proud to say that i won the follow the leader game due to my fast reflexes and my group won the dress up parade! :D I got a bottle of champagne sparkling white grape juice for the former and my group won a hamper consisting on sparkling white grape juice, biscuits, chips and tissue paper for the latter :)

my poor head being wrapped up

my group
(yes it was dark and they still added shades gosh)

shots of all the groups

me again

I didn't pay much attention to the first two performers because my costume was falling off and my costume designers were trying to fix it extremely quickly.

we were probably the only group with an age appropriate performance. The last two i watched had the girls all stripping (their tissue paper) lol. One introduced herself as a stripper from Geylang and the other acted like a pole dancer ._.

Raeann came up with a concept for me on the spot, and i was introduced as "Nana No. 8". I had satellite disk ears because i was an alien, shades because i just underwent lasik surgery, Japanese high socks because i stayed in Japan for a period of time, an arm sling because my plane crashed into Hawaii and a hula skirt because i was discovered in Hawaii. Furthermore, i was an artiste under Raeann's entertainment company. I talked to the audience in some sort of alien language and she acted as my translator.

Two Moons came on and my image was gone. There i was, awkwardly rapping along to Key's rap, awkwardly headbanging, awkwardly bouncing, and awkwardly screaming "TWO MOONS, TWO MOONS, TWO MOONS TWO MOONS TWO MOONS." How bad was it exactly? Probably bad enough to be used to test my future husband's love for me. /shrugs

I actually considered doing a proper dance (like Gee or whatever) but everyone was saying that the whole point was to act ridiculous so there, you have it. Chose an Exo song because it was Kris's birthday as well, and it was some sort of a tribute.....? Included him in my thank you speech when we won and sang him a birthday song as well.

popped confetti as a class and wished everyone all the best for the new year. honestly felt like crying.

mess left behind

I'm going to miss the class so much <3 We may have been known for the class with the most politics, but our conflicts bonded us in some way, whether we like it or not.

271012 - WuZone [OVERDUE]

It has been more than two weeks since WuZone and i haven't blogged about it so here is a really overdue post, i guess.

The 'rents brought the sissies and I for thai dinner before mum, middle sissy and i went to NLB for WuZone, also know plainly as Wu Recital.

sissy and i in the car otw to WuZone

WuZone is a student recital of Studio Wu, a dance school which i am a student of. Regrettably, i wasn't part of the recital because the rehearsal dates and timings clashed with my exams :( It was like the whole school other than me was part of it. Quite saddening, if you ask me, although i have learnt some of the choreographies before during class. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable and a really good production. Mum didn't think the same way very much but this is my blog and it was good to me.

this was reflected on the curtain before the concert started and during the intermission.

the programme booklet :* i really like it.

the performances were by professionals, long-time dancers and also beginner dancers. they were all unique with interesting concepts, but my favourite had got to be the last item which was by the Star Elites (a.k.a. instructors) featuring the Elite dancers. It was named Legend, and it was about monks and some king of the desert HAHA. it was really funny mainly because of Xavier, one of the instructors. He really reminds me of 2AM's Jokwon, with his kkab and all. Kkab Xavier really proved himself in the last item :-)

and hence, this is the end of my overdue post. the next few will be overdue as well, though.

ppyong! ^^
